Wheel thrown ikebana vessel with shino glaze with natural wood ash.
This pedestal bowl was designed with ikebana florals in mind, but is also perfect for a fruit bowl or centerpiece.
Fired in an anagama kiln! This kiln is an ancient style wood fired kiln dating back to the 5th century! These kilns are built like a cave into the earth along a hillside to create a natural single chamber tunnel for the flames to move throughout. The firing process requires 5 full days of round the clock stoking with a team of 10 artists. Ceramics fired in an anagama kiln are known for distinct natural wood-ash glazes, dramatic flame marks, and unpredictable earthy textures ~ true one of a kinds!
For the longevity of the piece it is recommended to hand wash with care.
