Raku Fired Mini Planter 007

Wheel mini planter with hand painted glaze design. 

Raku firing is an ancient Japanese ceramics technique where glazed ceramics are taken from the kiln while they are still glowing red hot and are then placed in a combustible material, such as sawdust or newspaper. This technique is used to starve the piece of oxygen, which creates a variety of colors within the glaze.

Due to the nature of the firing each piece is one of a kind.

*NOTE: water catch dish not included, planter has drainage hole. Raku fired clay is still somewhat porous and will retain moisture similar to terra cotta clay*

For the longevity of the piece it is recommended to hand wash with care.
