Pit Fired Vase 004

Wheel thrown stoneware vase with atmospheric pit fired markings. This piece is not glazed, but has been treated with waterproofing solution. Design marks are achieved from combusting organic materials in a pit, and allowing the clay to absorb the carbon and minerals from the fire. This piece was wrapped with tape, dry minerals, and fruit skins, it is one of a kind.

Wipe clean or hand wash with care.
